Modernism

Not that my blog is an avenue for shameless self promotion and all, but this is a link to my piece of writing entitled Green Sea and Brown Mud. Click and download if you are interested.

In a nutshell, it is the monologues of my Great Grandfather's stream of consciousness while talking to my Uncle (the eldest in my Mother's family). Keep in mind that he is very old, he is sick and he can't move. Imagine a 'belandih' Bruneian.

Well enjoy! (I hope)

it's a great, moving read. and imagining it spoken in malay, on a rickety rotan rocking chair (I miss our family's now, for sentimental reasons), fan turning lazily...

Actually, I never got to know him. He died when I wasn't even born yet. This story was concocted in my forehead based on what my mother, my uncles had told me about him. A bit of family history. :) Thanks for reading everyone.
